I told you it was a good deal
Did you see the article on Zenni on Fox? It's about ZenniOptical.com. I told you it was a good deal. I mean who really sells prescription glasses starting at only $8.00 per pair? Once your store makes it onto the news, you've hit the big time. But the prices are not increasing which is cool. Check them out and get awesome glasses at great prices.

There is a positive to having cable
I never really thought about it until today. I didn't think there was a positive in paying the cable bill but there is. It's Comcast's On Demand service. You can watch anything On Demand at any time. I don't have any premium channels because I found that I was really watching them.
The best thing I found On Demand is the Exercise Channel. I use Walk Away The Pounds series by Leslie Sansone. I'm using the Booster Mile program. It only lasts 16-18 minutes. Leslie has about 4 or 5 programs to choose from On Demand and they're all free!
That's how I lost 20 pounds last year. I used the programs from cable and walked in the comfort of my own home. I know some people need to be outside but I found it was easier for me to do on my own schedule. I didn't have to worry about a gym opening or being crowded or anything like that. I could also dress anyway I wanted to and not worry about red shorts and a orange shirt. Who cares...nobody saw me anyway.
If you have cable check it out and see if the free programs are available to you. You might as well get your moneys worth from them.

Was it worth $2.7M-$3M for Super Bowl commercials?
I think not. Those commercials seriously sucked. I know I don't work for an ad agency and I don't do that kind of thing for a living but c'mon! I think there were only 2 or 3 good commercials.
I usually love the Pepsi commercials but the Pepsi Max/Night at the Roxbury spoof (or whatever the hell that was supposed to be) was just lame! I remember watching it thinking "Are you serious?!?!"
Year after year, the best commercials are for beer. The Bud Light "Cheese Run" commercial was pretty good. The Budweiser commercial with the horses training was good too. There were a few others, but not many.
Seriously, I think a lot of advertisers overpaid for their spots. A lame commercial is still worth it as long as people remember it right. But I don't remember half of those commercials.
I sure hope that's not as good as it gets!

Deal or no deal
I get so mad watching this show. I know it's different when you're on the show and your adrenaline is flowing, but some of these people make me want to scream. I don't know what they're thinking. The girl on the show I'm watching had 2 large cases, but only 6 cases total. She knocked out the highest case left that had 300k. They offered her 23k, but she still had 100k in play. What does she do? Pick a case of course and she knocked out the 100k. Now the highest amount she can win is 200. I know I shouldn't get so worked up over these shows but I do.

Personal finance programs on tv
I watched the end of a program on CNBC. The little bit I saw was pretty interesting. They had 4 personal finance experts giving their thoughts on becoming a Millionaire.
I really don't remember any of their names, but the one that interested me the most was the woman who believes everyone should be entrepreneurs. She said that you can start your own business or become a partner. She told one woman that she was probably not charging enough for her services. She told her to take every job that came her way, charge more and get help to take some of the work off of her hands.
She also suggested that anyone that was considering become an entrepreneur to straddle between their two worlds. Those two worlds being their regular job and their new business. She doesn't suggest that anyone just quit their job to start their own business. You should have income coming in and build your own business at the same time.
I can't wait until they repeat the program so I can catch it from the beginning. There seemed to be a lot of useful advice.

Stupid criminals!
I always talk about how I watch AMW (America's Most Wanted). Tonight they profiled two geniuses who robbed a Verizon Wireless store. They stole a cashbox with $5000 in it. They estimate that the entire thing took 3 minutes tops.
It seemed quite coordinated-ambush a person walking in, take that person plus the other two into the back, get one to open the safe. Except as one walked by a dry erase board hanging on the wall, he looked up at it and seemed to study it. It was the employee schedule. Hmmm.... shouldn't be too hard to catch the two.

I Have Done Nothing All Day
I need to balance my checkbook and study. All I've done so far is watch tv. My favorite episode of L&O is on now. There's one coming on at midnight that I haven't seen yet. So I plan on watching tv all night. So much for studying. I guess I'll do that tomorrow. My class isn't until Tuesday so I at least have another day to procrastinate and prepare. I really need to buckle down. But this show is so good, I can't turn it off.
Finally Something Good On TV
There's a marathon on L&O SVU. Plus, the travel channel is talking about cruises. TBS has some good movies on today. Finally, something to watch.

Hello, Where's My Show?
I'm all amped up to watch Alias repeats like I do every Wednesday night. They're supposed to come on from 12am est until 4am est. Sometimes I only watch 1 episode, sometimes I watch all 4. Well today, Law & Order is on. It's 1am est and this is the second episode. I'm ticked. When the announcer guy came on, he intro-ed Alias as next, but nope. L&O.
It used to come on for 6 hours so I was unhappy when they cut it down to 4. But today it's not on at all. Grrrr. I'm already upset that I missed Without A Trace because I had to go out. I'm missing all of the shows today.

Where Were These Commercials On Super Bowl Sunday?
Today is the second day that I've seen a commercial that I really like. These commercials are brand new. We could have used some of this creativity on Super Bowl Sunday instead of some of the dry commercials that we did see.
The first new commercial was for Capital One where the family is in a snow globe in nowhereville. It was pretty good. Then today I saw the WAMU commercial where all of the bankers are on the roof like they're about to jump. Then all of their wives come up on the lift. One says "But who's gonna pay for my plastic surgery?". I love this commercial.
I hope the advertisers are paying attention so next yeat they get it right.
