We are a very litigious society. So whenever someone hears that you are suing someone, the first thing they think is that you're trying to hit a lawsuit "jackpot". What most people don't realize is that they're not going to get the big payday they're dreaming of.
My moms best friend is involved in a lawsuit with her job. It's a unlawful termination. Because it's an active case, I can't say too much about specifics. She's not being sued, but she's named in the lawsuit as a defendant because of the company she works for. The company is represented by Simmons Jannace & Stagg. They're one of the most respected law groups in the tri-state area of NY, NJ and CT.
The person in question is in for a very rude awakening. When all is said and done, there will be no big windfall and they still won't have a job.
