Site Stats
I've been talking about moving one of my blogs to it's own domain. It's a hard decision to make because you lose all of your page rank, alexa ratings, etc. I can redirect traffic so I won't lose that but everything else starts at zero. On a related note, one of my blogs just picked up an alexa ranking. Almost 8 million. I didn't expect a low number, but I sure didn't think it would be that high.

It's a pain having to restart building your technorati ranking etc. when you move to your own domain, but it's worth it in the long run. I found that I seemed to be much better indexed for search by google etc. when my posts were under my own domain name.
I know it also makes it easier for people to find you when you have your own domain name. I just have to suck it up and work hard to get my stats back up.
